MTNA Certification
A Statement of Professionalism
A Commitment to Excellence

The MTNA Certification program was created in 1967 to encourage music teachers at all levels to maintain the highest professional standards and to provide recognition for professional accomplishments. A directory of Nationally Certified Teachers of Music is distributed to MTNA members in the April/May issue of the "American Music Teacher."

Teacher of the Year

Each year the district honors outstanding teaching and service by selecting a nationally certified teacher to be named Teacher of the Year.   Nomination forms are sent to the membership in January, and the selection is announced at the Music Fair Teachers Luncheon.
